YOU DON'T HAVE TO SUFFER ALONE
REBIRTH: Healing from Birth Trauma
Birth trauma is REAL.
Yet, for many women, it remains overlooked or misunderstood within healthcare systems. Tragically, an estimated 20-25% of women experience symptoms of birth trauma that go undiagnosed, often leaving them to carry their pain in silence.
For many, the journey of healing feels like an uphill battle, as they struggle to find the right support. The NHS offers little in the way of dedicated care for those suffering from birth trauma, leaving many women to suffer in isolation and confusion (Birth Trauma Enquiry 2024)
Symptoms of birth trauma often don't meet the full criteria for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), which can result in women being misdiagnosed with post-natal depression (PND). This misdiagnosis can lead to the prescription of anti-depressants, which, while helpful for some, may mask the trauma rather than address the root cause.
The emotional impact of birth trauma can be devastating. Many women feel disconnected from their baby and overwhelmed with anxiety, constantly fearing for their baby's safety. Some experience hypervigilance, where they remain on high alert for danger, even when there is none. This can create a sense of isolation, as women feel unable to share their true feelings for fear that it may result in their baby being taken away or that they’re somehow not ‘good enough.’
When women don’t meet the full criteria for PTSD, their experiences are often dismissed or minimised by healthcare professionals. Instead of receiving the dedicated care they need, they are left feeling isolated and uncertain about where to turn for the help they so desperately want and need.
The truth is that birth trauma is real, and it requires specialised, compassionate care.
One of the most distressing aspects of birth trauma is the silence that surrounds it. Women are reluctant to speak out about their feelings due to the fear of being judged or, even worse, worry that acknowledging their trauma could lead to their baby being taken away from them. This fear of being misunderstood or blamed only deepens the sense of isolation, making it harder to seek help.
Healing from birth trauma and PTSD is possible with the right support and treatment.
These sessions take you from where you are right now to being able to enjoy life again and being able to fully function.
A husband of a client shared
"I don't know what you have done or how you have done it, but thank you for giving me
my wife back."
SYMPTOMS OF BIRTH TRAUMA PTSD
- Flashbacks to the birth or reliving parts of the experience
- Nightmares including being scared to go to sleep
- Avoiding anything you may associate with your birth trauma
- Intrusive thoughts that you can’t control
- Hypervigilance – being constantly alert with an increased startle response
- Panic Attacks
- Tokophobia – fear of childbirth
- Arousal – angry outbursts, irritability.
- Frightening thoughts – for example, about hurting your baby; these can be very scary, but rest assured they’re very rarely acted upon

The Key to Successful Treatment & Recovery

At the heart of our work together is the Rewind Technique, a proven, gentle approach to trauma recovery. This technique has helped many women, like you, find peace and healing after birth trauma and PTSD. It allows us to address the root causes of your trauma in a safe and supportive way, helping you move forward with more ease and confidence.
Through this specialised therapy, accredited by the Royal College of Midwives, you can begin to release the emotional weight of your experience and reclaim your life. This pioneering approach is about more than just relief from symptoms, it’s about true recovery, enabling you to feel whole again, without being defined by your trauma.
Neurodivergent Conditions and Birth Trauma Recovery:
It’s important to recognise that neurodivergent conditions, such as Aphantasia (the inability to visualise mental images), can significantly impact the way birth trauma is processed and treated. Affected individuals may struggle with techniques that rely on imagery or visualization. Understanding these conditions is key to adapting the treatment approach for optimal success, ensuring that every client receives the support tailored to their unique needs.

As one of my clients shared:
"I thought that maybe what I went through was normal; not really traumatic enough for me to qualify for any other treatment, so I tried to just get on with it. It was still affecting my daily life two years later! After working with Sam, I can now think about my birth without all the baggage, and I am now 12 weeks pregnant, looking forward to baby number two.
Thank you, Sam. I feel as though I have my life back."
Using this method, I’ve helped many women regain control of their lives and plan for future pregnancies without the shadow of trauma hanging over them
"I couldn’t fall or stay asleep and constantly checked on my daughter in the night to make sure she was breathing. I would have panic attacks and cringe when anyone put their hands on me (even my husband). Now, after my treatment, I’m planning my second baby and looking forward to being pregnant again"
Check what my previous clients have to say

I was suffering terrible with negative thoughts and anxiety the closer I got to my due date. I was my aunties birth partner for her 1st baby some years ago now, which sadly, her baby died and she was extremely poorly in ICU for a period.

I can't quite believe how different I felt after only one session.
I definitely slept better last night than I have for a long time. I am amazed what a difference that one session has made.
You made me believe and find the strength. No way I could have done it without the help, support and guidance you gave me. I will be forever grateful, thank you.
What a way to end the healing process.

Second Baby

Following a traumatic birth and a months stay in 3 different hospitals I couldn't believe that no one was able to offer any help, I kept asking and just kept getting self help info.
I couldn't function and wan't living my life, or enjoying being a new mum because the trauma consumed all of me and every aspect of my life.
I stumbled across Sam's page and was so relieved that there actually was somewhere I could go for help. I can never thank you enough.
