How to raise a data protection concern
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your personal information, I want to know. You have every right to ask questions about your data, and raising a concern will never affect the care or support you receive from me.
I take your privacy seriously, and if something has gone wrong, or you feel it has, I would much rather hear about it directly so I can put it right.
How to complain
You can raise a data protection complaint in whichever way suits you best:

You do not need to use any particular format or legal wording. Just tell me, in your own words, what has happened and what you are concerned about. If you need any help making your complaint, or you need it in a different format, let me know and I will support you with that.
What happens next
I will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days of receiving it, and in practice I aim to do so much sooner. My acknowledgment will confirm that I have received your complaint and that I am looking into it.
I will then investigate what has happened without undue delay. Most concerns can be looked into and resolved quickly; if yours is more complex and takes longer, I will keep you updated on progress and explain the reason for any delay.
Once I have completed my investigation, I will write to you with the outcome. I will explain clearly what I found, how I reached my decision, and what I have done, or will do, as a result.
If you are not satisfied
If you are unhappy with my response, or you would prefer to speak to the regulator, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's independent authority for data protection. The ICO will usually expect you to have raised your concern with me first and given me the opportunity to resolve it.
